Chiropractic doctors, also referred to as chiropractic physicians or chiropractors, practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care. A Chiropractor will perform patient examinations, diagnose and then provide treatment for the patient.
Chiropractors are trained to offer therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, provide nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle change information, and also have a wide range of diagnostic skills. When determining whether or not chiropractic treatment is the appropriate course of action, they will assess the patient by doing one or more of the following: laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, clinical exams, and other diagnostic interventions.
If chiropractic treatment is not the right choice for a patient’s condition or the condition needs co-management, they will refer them to the appropriate health care provider.
